High Profile Sites

April 15th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what makes a great profile page.  If you’re a reader of this blog, you probably have a bunch of them at Facebook, Yelp, Twitter, Digg, Flickr, Tumblr, MySpace, and a bunch of others.  If you are reading this blog, but don’t have a bunch of online profiles, you’re either my wife or my mom.

Out of your online profiles which one is your favorite?  What does a profile page need to accomplish?  If you were creating your “one master profile” on the web, what would it include?

Like the idea of the facebook profile where it can be as simple or as crazy as the user wants it to be. Think clean and simple basic starting point with the ability to scale (read: go crazy) works.

the one thing that annoys me is having to write my stuff over and over again. besides, most people are not who they say they are, but what they do.

wouldn’t it be better if profiles were done automatically? what do guys thing?
